Going green means reducing waste, right darlings? So what do you do when your favorite pressed powder breaks—throw it away? No! If it’s foundation, you can smash up the powder even more, toss it in a refillable powder brush, and, just like that, you have your foundation powder on the go—time saver, money saver, waste saver. If it’s an eye shadow that breaks, find a small container to put it in and just use it as loose powder. Now, what’s really fun is if the powder that breaks is a bronzer, any kind of pink or red powder, or shimmer powder, you can mix the now-loose powder with moisturizer, clear lip gloss or primer to get a whole new product. That’s what I did with my shimmer bronzer: mixed it with my body lotion and now I have a body bronzer!

Celeb look of the week: Gwen Stefani. This funky female has always been an inspiration to me, with her classic red lips and sultry eyes. To copy her look, start with a pressed powder to matte out the skin; then apply liquid liner in an upward sweep on the eyes to get that glamorous cat eye. Swipe on a couple of generous coats of your favorite mascara, (we want lots of lashes here), and give the cheeks a faint dusting of a neutral pink blush. Lips come next, with a vibrant red lipstick, liner, and gloss. Lastly, make sure your brows are pristinely plucked and penciled—precision is key.
