Save on Lotion from our Body Expert

July 15, 2009 by Cari Cozy

Listen up ladies! Want to save a bit on scented lotion? Don’t throw away your favorite fragrance just because it’s too empty to spritz—there’s more left in there! Pour those precious drops into an unscented body lotion, stir, and voila—instant scented moisturizer, in the scent you love the most! Plus, fragrance-free lotions and creams often cost a lot less than those with scents. My favorite is Bliss’s Naked Body Butter, which is $35 for 8.5 oz. Compare that with the Gucci by Gucci Body Lotion, which is $48 for only 7.1 oz., and the choice is clear!

Take your fav scent with you from our Beauty Expert

It’s finally get warm outside, so I’m sure many of us are beach-bound. If you want to take your favorite fragrance with you to the water’s edge, invest in an atomizer. This nifty little contraption is made from aluminum and can take your special scent with you wherever you go, with no fears of a broken bottle. You can either get a roller ball or a spritzing atomizer; either way, you have an instant pick-me-up for whenever you need a fragrance refresher!

Making your perfume last longer from our Beauty Expert

July 7, 2009 by Cari Cozy

Here’s a great tip to make you fragrance bottle last longer: store it in a cool, dark place. Both light and heat are detrimental to your favorite perfumes and since most are stored in clear glass containers, they are very susceptible to both elements. Keeping bottles in drawers away from sunlight and temperature changes can help it stay truer, longer—thus saving you money in the end. Some fragrance buffs go so far as to store their scents in the refrigerator—a perfect way to feel refreshed on a hot summer day!

Wrong way to wear your Fragrance? From our Beauty Expert

July 5, 2009 by Cari Cozy

Did you know that there is a wrong way to wear your fragrance? When you spray your smell on your wrists, the worst thing to do is to rub your wrists together. It “bruises” the fragrance, breaking the molecules that make that scent what it is. You can, if you want, pat once—even that is pushing it, though. The best thing to do is to apply your fragrance to clean, dry skin and let it absorb on it’s own; it smells better and last longer that way.

Pulse Points from our Beauty Expert

July 3, 2009 by Cari Cozy

We all want to get the most out of our favorite fragrances, so here’s a tip to make your special smell linger longer—spritz your scent on your pulse points instead of your clothes. Not only does this practice help the fragrance stick to your skin better, but also the scent reacts with your body chemistry to make the fragrance unique and individual. Plus, some fragrances can stain fabrics. Pulse points include your wrists, inside of your elbows, behind your knees, your collarbones and the back of your neck.
