Pulse Points from our Beauty Expert
We all want to get the most out of our favorite fragrances, so here’s a tip to make your special smell linger longer—spritz your scent on your pulse points instead of your clothes. Not only does this practice help the fragrance stick to your skin better, but also the scent reacts with your body chemistry to make the fragrance unique and individual. Plus, some fragrances can stain fabrics. Pulse points include your wrists, inside of your elbows, behind your knees, your collarbones and the back of your neck.
Self-Tanning Tips from our Beauty Expert
With summer right around the corner, I know many of us want to get beach-ready and start working on our tans. Now I know I don’t have to tell you that self-tanner is the safest way, (I mean, really, who uses tanning beds these days?), but did you know the key to getting a flawless self-tan is exfoliation? Without it, the DHA (dihydroxyacetone, the active ingredient in self-tanners) will collect on the areas with a lot of dead skin and give a blotchy appearance—no good when you’re in a bikini. Whether you’re getting it done at a salon or it’s a DIY job, exfoliate your entire body beforehand, paying special attention to the elbows and knees, then shave and moisturize to keep your tan as smooth as possible!
